Sustained antibody response
Most patients with asymptomatic or mild COVID-19 have detectable SARS-CoV-2 antibodies 8 months after infection, researchers report in Emerging Infectious Diseases. Some 58 patients in South Korea underwent antibody testing 8 months after they were infected; 7 had been asymptomatic and the rest had experienced mild symptoms. Over 90% had positive tests for anti-N pan-Ig; 86% for anti-S IgG; 69% for anti-S1 IgG; and 26% for anti-N IgG. Positive neutralizing activity was found in over half of participants.
