CDC:Coronavirus Disease 2019 in Children

A study in MMWR confirms that U.S. children with COVID-19 have a milder course than adults. As of April 2, youths accounted for 1.7% of all confirmed U.S. cases, and three pediatric deaths had been reported. Roughly 73% of pediatric patients reported fever, cough, or shortness of breath, compared with 93% of adults aged 18–64. Similarly, 5.7% of all pediatric patients were hospitalized, compared with 10% of adults.
